Michael restored an old Chesterfield for us. The workmanship is outstanding and we would highly recommend Michael. Not only is he an excellent upholsterer but a very friendly and easy person to do business with.

Very professional service had a blanket box to be recovered, Michael helped us get the right fabric and design to match exactly what we wanted. Extremely pleased with the result. Would happily recommend and I will be using his services again in the not too distant future

Michael has restored my deceased mother’s antique Art Deco chairs to an immaculate condition. These are a family heirloom and I am beyond pleased with the result. Very, very beautiful, the leather choice, his polishing technique - all a work of art. There are not many craftsmen like this in the world, let alone Australia. Such a humble and pleasant person to deal with also. Cannot sing Michael’s praises highly enough!!

Michael Billingham at All Class Upholstery has recently completed 3 jobs for us. We could not be more pleased.There was straight forward reupholstering of chair pads for our dining room chairs.There was a period occasional chair for which we wanted to use an albino kangaroo skin, which we owned, for the back and arms. Michael helped us choose a linen fabric for the seat in the same 'albino' colour.The third project was a child's antique Chinese chair with painted and embossed decoration on the wooden arms and legs. This decoration was badly chipped. We had assumed the chair could be reupholstered but that we would have to live with the damage. Michael spent time with us seeking a fabric which might do justice to this chair. He had, amongst his offcuts, the perfect piece in a figured silk, which carried the same colours as in the painted wood. He said he would also repair and make good the damage to the painted areas. We agreed thinking any work on it would be an improvement. We were stunned by the beautiful result. He has completely repaired the damage while maintaining the patina of age.We visited his workshop as the work was underway and, from his comments, it is clear that all the unseen work inside the piece is of the same high quality that one can see on the outside.Michael returned all my pieces cleaned with scratches removed - a measure of the care he takes with every piece.And further in our enthusiasm about his work we would like to add that he spent considerable time with us choosing suitable fabrics. He never gave the slightest sense that we were taking too much time. He seemed to enjoy the hunt with us and offered that if we could not find it among his numerous samples or offcuts we could visit the wholesale suppliers in his name.So here we have a master upholsterer as well as an extraordinary artist, devoted to doing the best by you and your pieces.

My antique wingback chair had been destroyed by 3 generations of cats so I finally decided to bring her back to life. Michael has a great selection and knowledge of fabrics and cared for my chair like it was his own.It now sits at home pride of place like the grand lady she is!
